Interactive Content Examples

Animated Tabs Animation just for the sake of it isn't a good thing if it's just there to compensate for a lack of traditional content.

However - interactive elements, judiciously used, encourage the user to explore further, see more, and stay on your site longer.

The image on the left showcases a tabbed Javascript slider which allows the user to flick through the marine plant and equipment which AMC charter.

3D Design I modelled the 'Virtual Showroom' for Fairlie Furniture Works using Google Sketchup.

Sketchup is a fantastic application, useful for anybody needing to quickly develop 3D models. If you are involved in architecture, construction or planning it makes great visual impact.

The Virtual Showroom offers something a little bit different, and entices web visitors to come in to see the products for themselves.

Streamed Video North Ayrshire Women's Aid had been given a DVD containing three videos (produced by Scottish Women's Aid) to distribute however possible.

I took the video files they had and compressed them using a special codec, then converted them to flash video, which allowed me to stream the files (just like You Tube does).

Interactive Design

Interactive content can liven a site up, add dynamism and flair, and provide the 'Wow!' factor that standard text and images don't provide.

It's not just eye candy either. Interactive tools can be developed to help your customers better understand your product or service.

Well executed interactive content will enhance the online image you are projecting to these potential customers.

By offering engaging content presented in an innovative fashion, users will spend longer on your site and explore more of it - both key factors in converting hits into sales.

The interactive elements of my sites are often commented upon by customers phoning my clients with business enquiries.

When it comes to this type of thing you are limited only by your imagination. Get your creative juices going!

This section showcases interactive features which I have developed using Flash, Javascript, After Effects, and 3D Modeling software. They include;

  • Product Configurators
  • Games
  • Navigable 3D environments
  • Interactive catalogues on CD or DVD
  • Novelty items
  • Sales Presentations

Flash Portfolio

It's always had SEO issues, it requires a plug-in, and it's time consuming to develop with - but by thunder, magic can be worked using good old Flash.

3D Design

Interactive 3D models can be a fantastic way to showcase products, rooms, spaces, buildings etc. They can be cost-effectively developed using Google Sketchup.
