Content Creation

Maybe you're the type of person who enjoys writing, and you have already developed plenty of useful, informative, impressive marketing copy for your new website. If you are, then you are in the minority. Most business people can be both eloquent and passionate when talking about their business, but can't face the prospect of writing about it.

Writing content for websites differs from the content you would produce for other media, because of the need to generate copy which ranks well on search engines. It can be tricky striking a balance between search engine optimised copy and readable copy. After all, getting potential customers onto your site is only half the battle - once they are there they need to be impressed by your business, and what it can offer them.

I offer a turnkey web development service, and I am able to help you develop the content for your site. This includes the copy writing and the photography.

Copy Writing

I've been writing marketing copy for many years. I've developed a writing style which I feel reaps the best rewards for my clients, in terms of the sales that the marketing material generates.

The tone depends on the product that's being sold and the client's particular business, but for me the best marketing copy is;

- Friendly
- Concise
- Easy to read
- Grammatically correct

I try to write copy which fulfills that criteria and also ranks well in search engines. The business enquiries will start coming in, and your website stops being a cost and starts being an investment.

I wrote the majority of the copy for the sites in my portfolio, if you need help with this area of the site then I can help.

Photography

I'm no David Bailey, I'll be the first to admit it. I use a lot of stock photography in the sites I do, simply because it's the cheapest option by quite a margin.

However, you don't want a site that's just filled with stock images - for a start it's always a bit obvious if that's the case. It's a better idea to intersperse your own photos with some professional photos. However, hiring a professional photographer doesn't come cheap, as you'll know if you've ever been involved in a wedding.

I use a Canon 350D with a Sigma DC 18-50mm f2.8 EX lense. It's a good bit of kit, and it yields excellent results. I am also very handy with Adobe Photoshop, so touch-ups and airbrushing can all be easily accomplished if the initial photo wasn't quite perfect.

If the budget stretches to a professional photographer that's great, but if it doesn't then we can develop the imagery ourselves.
